This website was researched and designed by Hanna Hajjar, whose family comes from Urhoy (modern Urfa, and ancient Edesa). Urhoy is located on the Balikh River, in the North-Western region of Beth-Nahreen (Mesopotamia), between the two great rivers Euphrates and Tigris, in the Middle East. Western Syriac), Urhay (in Eastern Syriac), Urfa (in Turkish), Al-Raha (in
Arabic), Edessu (in ancient Assyrian/Akkadian), and Edessa (in European
